I'm off to Barcelona, Spain!!!

So I bought my tickets online at midnight on Sunday, May 13th. The next day I informed my work that I had to go on this once in a lifetime trip... so off I go! I'm going to be travelling with a group of friends from Nanaimo, BC. A little back history about this trip: I had been talking about this trip for the last year with Sarita and her boyfriend, Pat. Pat went to Barcelona for a month last year and had such a great time he wanted to go back again. Last year he travelled with a few skate friends and ended up renting out a house for a month. Sarita and I were both really interested in repeating this adventure and our wheels began turning. Up until recently, not much commitment was showing from the guys that had seemed interested. Sarita and I thought that it wasn't going to happen. I started a new job and told them about the possible excursion. They were not keen on hiring someone for the summer if they weren't going to be here. So I ended up telling them that I would not go and I got the job. In the mean time, Sarita and the five others ended up finding cheap flights to London online and booked there tickets. At first I was cool with the idea of not going, as I thought that this trip would become a yearly ritual for some of the peeps, but as the trip neared I began to doubt this acceptance. After a weekend out, with those that were jumping the big pond, they really made it hard for me to remain so content. I couldn't think of any of the good reasons not to go. Hastily, I started looking online for tickets and ended up booking mine. Unfortunately, I will not be flying with everyone. Instead I will fly into Glasgow, Scotland the day after everyone leaves. Once I get there I will wait on standby for a cheap flight to Barcelona. There I will meet up with the gang and, hopefully, we'll have a house to rent for the month. The benefit to flying into Scotland is that I've never been there before and will probably fly back a day or two earlier than my flight home to check out the city. So right now I'm trying to save as much last minute cash as I possibly can while dealing with last minute travel details. This blog is my way of keeping you all posted. Feel free to send emails!
